''Sailing to Alexandria and if the depth of the sea is 11 fathoms, you need to sail one more day''. Herodotos 4 bc. Navigators ' sextants. A very old instrument that the Greek astronomer Hipparchus mentions in his historical documents, and before him Eudoxus used it and called it ''astrolavos''.The primary use of a sextant is to determine the angle between an astronomical object and the horizon for the purposes of celestial navigation. A relation between 2 or more values that declares the Greek word ''LOGIA'' that was made by the word ''LOGOS'' and from that ''TECHNOLOGIA'' ''ANALOGIA'' (the equation between two logos!))and ''ALGORYTHMOS(=A-LOGO-RYTHMOS=series of logos in a rhythm)''. You know...the base of all the digital sofwares that we use in our days.According to a sextant the determination of this angle, the altitude, is known as sighting (or shooting) the object, or taking a sight. The angle, and the time when it was measured, can be used to calculate a position line on a nautical or aeronautical chart. After so many years GPS system came up (US project 1973) and all started by LORAN and the Decca Navigator system, developed in the early 1940s and used by the British Royal Navy during World War II.In our days we have the Russian Global Navigation Satellite System (GLONASS),the European Union Galileo positioning system, China's BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, the Japanese Quasi-Zenith Satellite System, and India's Indian Regional Navigation Satellite System and so many others that are developed day after day...Why right now I am telling you all these? Because in our ''TECHNOLOGIA'' there are also related values to many ''LOGOS'' and similar mechanical principles that designate the ''working base'' of a manual instrument ,like in-Tendo instruments or the ''working base'' too of a ''modern digital instrument'' like the CAD system of 3Shape and so many others...I can not say to you: ''do this or do that'', because I have made my personal opinion for MY WAY OF TECHNOLOGIA....So what is my suggestion??Come to the 12th ESLO Congress & the 1st Ortho Dental Technician Meeting and find YOUR WAY FOR YOUR TECHNOLOGIA ...Two more free seats available to SOLD OUT .Saturday 2nd of July.
