About Prof. Rolf G. Behrents
Rolf G. Behrents received a B.A. from St. Olaf College, his dental training at Meharry Medical College, and his orthodontic training and Master of Science degree from Case Western Reserve University. He received a Ph.D. degree from the University of Michigan for work conducted at the Center for Human Growth and Development. In 2001, he was awarded an honorary degree (Doctor Honoris Causa) by the University of Athens in Greece. In 2007 he received the Blair Distinguished Service Award from the AAOF, received the Jarabak International Teacher Award in 2011, and will receive the Albert Ketcham Award from the American Board of Orthodontics in 2022. He has received several awards for his research, has authored and co-authored numerous articles pertaining to clinical orthodontics and facial growth, and has lectured extensively across the US and abroad. He has served on the faculty at Case Western Reserve University, The University of Tennessee, and Baylor College of Dentistry. He served as the Executive Director of the Center for Advanced Dental Education from 2003-2011. Until his retirement in 2018, he was the Lysle E. Johnston, Jr Professor of Orthodontics and Director of the Orthodontic Program at the Center for Advanced Dental Education of Saint Louis University (SLU).
Presently he teaches at SLU on a part-time basis as a Clinical Professor and holds the rank of Professor Emeritus. He continues to serve as a Research Associate at the Bolton-Brush Growth Study Center of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland and since 1999 he has served as Co-Director of the Graduate Orthodontic Residents Program (GORP). His is the present Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics (since 2014). He is also the Editor-in-Chief of the AJO-DO Clinical Companion since its inception in 2021.

Dr. Moschos A. Papadopoulos serves as Professor, Chairman and Program Director at the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. He is also Visiting Professor at the University of Vienna, Austria, and at the Universities of Messina and of Naples, Italy. He was the founder and served as first President of the Balkan Association of Orthodontic Specialists and President of the Orthodontic Society of Northern Greece.
Dr. Papadopoulos is Honorary Editor of the "Hellenic Orthodontic Review", was Asst. Editor of the "World Journal of Orthodontics” and is/was Member of the Editorial Board of 19 peer reviewed journals, and Reviewer for 47 orthodontic, dental and medical journals. He is also active member in more than 22 national and international societies, federations, and unions.
Dr. Papadopoulos received several awards and distinctions, such as the "Joseph E. Johnson Clinical Award” and the "Turpin Award for Evidence-Based Research” from the American Association of Orthodontists, the “Regional Award of Merit” from the World Federation of Orthodontists, the “Special Achievement Award” from the Balkan Association of Orthodontist Specialists, the "Align Research Award” from Align Technology, and the “Award of Excellence in Teaching on International Level” (twice) from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Currently the main clinical and research interests of Dr. Papadopoulos include the subjects of "noncompliance orthodontic treatment", "temporary anchorage devices in orthodontics", and "evidence-based orthodontics".
Dr. Papadopoulos has written among others the books "Orthodontic treatment for the Class II non-compliant patient", "Skeletal anchorage in orthodontic treatment of Class II malocclusion", and "Cleft lip and palate: Diagnosis and treatment management", has published more than 235 scientific publications, and has presented more than 400 lectures, courses and papers worldwide.

Dr. J. Martin Palomo is a tenured professor and the Orthodontic Residency director at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Palomo’s contributions to craniofacial imaging, informatics, and airway analysis have been recognized through medical and dental research awards, national and international presentations, and numerous peer-reviewed publications. He is the past chair of the AAO Committee on Technology, member of the AAO Council on Scientific Affairs, member of the AAO Foundation Planning Awards Committee, the AAO representative for Image Gently, member of the AAO Committee on Conferences and the Associate Editor for the Digital Orthodontics section of the AJODO. He is also a member of the AAO Task Force that provided a white paper on the orthodontist role on treating patients with Sleep Apnea. He is a board certified orthodontist, an Angle Society member, and an active member of both the Orthodontics and the Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Associations, as well as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.

About Dr. Kostas Papakostas MD PhD MPhil FRCS FRCS(ORL-HNS)
Consultant Otorhinolarygologist – Head & Neck Surgeon, Adults & Paediatrics
Dr Konstantinos Papakostas has graduated from the Medical School of University of Athens, Greece in 1990 and has also obtained his PhD on the pathophysiology of tinnitus at the same University. He received his basic general surgical training at the Mount Sinai Hospital of New York and completed the basic training program in Otolaryngology in Liverpool, England. Following this, he was awarded by the Wellcome Trust a funded Research Fellowship on the neurophysiology of the auditory system in 1999. This led to a Master of Philosophy postgraduate degree by research in Neuroscience at Keele University, England. Subsequently, he entered the Higher Surgical Training program in Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery in the United Kingdom. During this 6-year program he subspecialised in otology, endoscopic rhinological surgery, facial plastics, pediatric otolaryngology and had a constant exposure in the management of head and neck malignancies. He then obtained the diploma of the Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Otolaryngology - Head & Neck Surgery. He was then appointed as a Consultant Otorhinolaryngologist - Head & Neck Surgeon at the Singleton University Hospital, Swansea, UK in 2005.
Dr Papakostas now practices privately in Athens and his main interests include otological surgery, hearing and balance disorders, endoscopic and aesthetic nasal surgery, endoscopic laser surgery of tumours of the larynx, sleep disorders in adults/children and paediatric otolaryngology. He is member of the American Craniofacial Associates Group (ACFA) in Athens that treats children with cleft palate/lip and craniofacial abnormalities, being responsible for the management of airway obstruction, otological conditions, hearing and speech disorders in these children.
